Healdsburg and Dry Creek

A little further, but one of our favorites to visit. Town built around the square and has plenty of good wine tasting rooms within walking distance once you park in town. Driving into the Dry Creek area offers less traffic and great small wineries. Look for Bella Vinyards at the end of the road–great one. This is where we went on our first out of town date, and this is where we got engaged!

Sonoma

Sonoma is both a town and a county, so it can be confusing sometimes when setting out to find a "Sonoma" winery. One of our favorites is close to the town of Sonoma, Gundlach Bundschu. It's where that picture of us on this website was taken. It's gorgeous and there's a little restaurant on the grounds.

Russian River

Russian River Wineries start just west, south-west of Healdsburg and go out toward the coast. A memorable day trip is to start early, get to a few tastings and then head back on coast, BUT not before visiting that must stop at Nick's Cove for a refreshment right on the edge of Tomales Bay. Then keep heading south along the coast all the way back to Mill Valley. This road surprises us in some way every time we are on it.
